I cannot, in good conscience, recommend this company. In my opinion, the proprietor did not follow the diagram provided and agreed to; made key decisions without consulting me, did poor quality work and simply handed me excuses. Castardi Lawn & Landscaping agreed to put up an elongated ‘U’ shaped retaining wall, install Zoysia sod and put in a demarcation area between the new Zoysia sod and the Bermuda grass that I already had in another area of my back yard.
The end result were a nearly straight retaining wall, excess Zoysia sod that extended out to the Bermuda grass, and no demarcation area between the two grasses and I now have a area of my lawn that has two different colored and textured grasses . The dirt removed to put in the retaining wall was leveled off in another large area of my yard and was left uncovered. The area immediately behind the retaining wall was left with large rocks and clumps of clay and then covered with pine straw, making walking in the area treacherous. The individual blocks were not filled nor glued to each other; thus a wall with questionable staying power. Instead of a graceful elongated retaining wall that fits naturally in my backyard, I have a retaining wall that cuts my backyard in half.
When I discussed by concerns with the proprietor, he hung up the telephone and then failed to show for their 2 week inspection. I have engaged another landscaping company to resolve the issues with the work that Castardi Lawn & Landscaping did.
